Mouth Music Dance Tour

(Thu 04 March 2010)

On 19 February, the Grand Theatre Groningen premiered the newest production Mouth Music, by Noord Nederlandse Dans Company. Now, on it's tour throughout the Netherlands, which runs until 15 May 2010, the performance will be coming to Theaters nearby.

After the premiere of the show, the newspaper 'Dagblad van het Noorden' rewarded the performance with 4 out of 5 stars and wrote: 'The audience were speechless at Mouth Music.'

In Mouth Music the work of young choreographers is presented. During their time at Noord Nederlandse Dans, choreographers Andrea Miller, Edan Gorlicki and Einav Eshel made and remade different works in which the mouth has a remarkable place in the musical frame. New works of Shropshire, in combination with the different movement languages, evolves into a pallet of short choreographies. The program introduces the audience to the current developments within the working field of this new generation of choreographers.

Gorlicky and Miller are so-called artistic associates of the company. They are talented choreographers who have worked with Noord Nederlandse Dans for two years. Within this period they have experimented and researched their artistic boundaries within the profile of the company. The result of the working process is shown next to work of the Israeli Einav Eshel and artistic director Stephen Shropshire.

Since 2009 Noord Nederlandse Dans has operated under the artistic direction of Stephen Shropshire. With Shropshire at the helm, the company - which has long been known for its athleticism, musicality and virtuosity - continues to present programs that are both emotionally and intellectually engaging, as well as physically thrilling. Shropshire's work, along with the work of a new generation of young international choreographers, re-confirms the company's position as one of the most exciting and original modern dance companies working in the Netherlands today.

Be sure not to miss this new sound and taste the artistic adventure in Mouth Music.
