Experience different musical genres spanning from traditional New Orleans jazz, swing, bop, free jazz, fusion, avant-garde and electronic jazz; to blues, gospel, funk, soul, R&B, hip hop, world beat and Latin all in one weekend.

The North Sea Jazz is a major international jazz event, which will take place in Ahoy Rotterdam on 9, 10 and 11 July.

From its first edition in 1976, the festival has now evolved into an event that has approximately thirteen hundred artists and a visitor tally between sixty-five to seventy-five thousand every year.

Audiences will be treated to the performances of big names in jazz such as the Pat Metheny Group, Caetano Veloso, Earth, Wind & Fire, Herbie Hancock’s The Imagine Project and Jamie Lidell next to superstars Daina Krall, Ben Harper, Norah Jones, Katie Melua, Joss Stone and Corinne Bailey Rae among others.

The Netherlands will be represented by the sultry Caro Emerald, a rising talent who just finished recording her debut album, a mix of 1950’s inspired ballroom jazz, cinematic tango’s, sexy jazz tracks and mambo’s.  She first gained public recognition for her hit single Back it Up which became a mega hit and was quickly followed by her second hit song A Night Like This.

Joining her are Dutch artists Waylon, Eric Vloiemans, Typhon & New Cool collective, Giovanca and others.

The North Sea Jazz Festival also gives young talents the chance to make it on a major stage, and this is what makes it so special.

This unique platform has developed into a historical and international event where the past, present and future of jazz is represented in one weekend, under one roof.
