From Tuesday, May 16th, China, The Rise of an Empire, runs for six months in The Hague’s Omniversum cinema. theater.


 China, The Rise of an Empire – was  awarded  best short documentary prize at the Lumière Awards – goes back to time between the empire of the first great emperor over two thousand years ago and the current economic superpower. The archaeological find in 1974 of the mausoleum of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, surrounded by a Terracotta fortress of thousands of warriors, meant a unique time capsule to the past. The discovery revealed many things about China’s past and present. Qin Shi Huang united the various fighting powers and laid the foundation for China as the first emperor of the entire empire as we know it today.
The film  is a visual experience, showing beautiful and aerial photography and the latest time-lapse techniques the beauty and tragedy of world power. On Omniversum’s 840m² dome panel – equipped with 36 speakers, six-channel digital audio and six subwoofers for feel-less tone – gives an  unforgettable experience.
