Daniel Docherty has earned his stripes while making music on the streets of Glasgow. He build his experience during his years of playing his happy and emotional songs in parks, shopping malls and in the Scottish streets. When he suddenly appeared at Eurosonic in 2016 things went fast.
Docherty signed at [PIAS] and he played a packed show at Carré. Like it was nothing. Even though he has this sudden success, he still likes to perform on the streets. ‘’ every town I go to I immediately want to get on the streets, for me that’s the perfect way to write new songs and try them out at the same time’’. His single ‘Hold Me’ is a great example of this working method.
His virtuous guitar style earns him credits and it shows the influences of John Martyn and Tommy Emmanuel. Luckily Daniel pays The Hague a visit at March 22nd 2018. So keep your eyes open in the city centre and come and pay him a visit here at Paard!
