European Championship Bicycle Beachrace @ In front of Kurhaus

The European Championship Bicycle Beachrace will be organised at The Hague ‘City by the sea’ for the second time.

Competitors from all over Europe will compete for the European championship jersey. The current champions are Paulina Rooijakkers and Jasper Ockeloen.

Who will be the next champions?

The Track:

Start / Finish location in front of the Kurhaus on the boulevard. Adress: Gevers Deynootplein 30, 2586 CK Den Haag

Terrain: 90% beach and 10 % bike path/ boulevard.

Lenght: 54 km.

The start will be at the boulevard, in the front of the Kurhaus. The competitors will start in a southern direction and will cycle towards the harbour. At the harbour, there will be a turning point which will lead the competitors into northern directions to the city of Katwijk. Near Katwijk (close to camping Zuidduinen) the competitors will leave the beach for a steep climb. They will head out to a southern direction over a bike path through the dunes for about 1,5 kilometres. The competitors will then return to the beach through a steep climb and descent and head back in a southern direction to Scheveningen. After passing the pier the competitors will head to the boulevard where they will be racing for a few hundred metres and then go back to the beach again. The participants of the 27,45 kilometres run will now finish. The participants of the 54-kilometre run will do the same round one more time.
