If you like craft beers or a tasty cocktail, Brody’s American Taphouse in The Hague’s City Centre is one you don’t want to pass by. Since 2017 they are located at Korte Molenstraat 2, where they have had a successful first year. Expats and foreigners were welcomed during many events, such as a free buffet during Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day, the livestream of Super Bowl and the celebrations of St. Patrick’s Day and Oktoberfest.

While they serve great gin, cocktails and wines, their passion lies with beer. The frequently changing menu of craft beers consist of beers from very exclusive and well-respected breweries such as Founders, Cascade and Anchor. The knowledgeable staff can tell you all about these beers and breweries, while you relax on one of the comfy chesterfields.

For 2018 their goals are to make expats and foreigners even more at home and to provide The Hague with more delicious and unique craft beers. Manager Gijs says: “We want to provide The Hague with a full circle experience when it comes to beer. Our staff is very passionate and our bar has a cool story to tell itself. You have to step inside to experience this and talk to the staff.” Right now they have some new kegs in from The Flying Monkeys, Founders and Evil Twin.

About providing a home for the international community of The Hague, he says the following: “We host a couple of events every month and notice that these are perfect for making contacts. It’s all about connecting people. Our visitors easily bond over beer, because they share a similar passion for it. But even If you don’t like beer, we host events such as Brody’s Jazz Sessions for which we have a very talented jazz performer every month. Guests will immediately have something to talk about: music. We want the Internationals to know that they can always come to Brody’s if they want to feel at home.”
