Match report: ADO Den Haag Ladies 4 v 0 FC Utrect Ladies
Due to other commitments, I have been away from the ADO ladies team this season, but last night I managed to fit it in and what an exciting night it was to visit. The ladies team this season have been firing the goals in and was last night before kick-off lying in second position in the league table, with the best goal difference in the league. ADO ladies were one point behind leaders EC Twente and one point above third placed AZ. So this final match of the season could see any of the top three win the league.

The crowd greets the teams
There was a great crowd in the stadium to support the ladies as they came onto the pitch, the streamers and large flags that normally accompany the men’s matches were on show, everybody hoping to see ADO become the league champions. There were many with their Smartphone’s out keeping tabs on what was happening in the other games.
The first half was forty-five minutes of ADO domination; the Utrecht defence never really had more than one minutes rest at a time. The onslaught was continuous and if it were a boxing match, it would have been stopped due to the opposition taking to much punishment.
I apologise for the lack of details in the report, but having no team sheet has robbed me of supplying names. However, ADO took the lead in the thirty-seventh minute when they were awarded a free-kick on the right hand side, just outside the penalty box. The kick was floated across the goal by Jeanine van Dalen and swerved viciously in the air deceiving the Utrecht keeper Angela Christ as it floated over her head straight into the back of the net, 1-0.
During the first minute of first half injury time, ADO was awarded a free kick on the left, but a bit more central to the goal. The defensive wall could do nothing to stop the shot from Lisanne Grimberg that was whipped up and over the wall into the back of the net leaving the keeper with absolutely no chance, 2-0.

The second half started with a bang. Forty-seven minutes played and a great ball played over the top, saw Lucienne Reichardt show some great ball control as she gave a quick swivel and shot to fire the ball high into the back of the goal, stunning goal, 3-0.
ADO had another chance seven minutes later, again a quick attack ending with a one on one with the keeper, the ball being toe poked goalwards beating the keeper but rebounding back off the base of the post. ADO were relentless in their attacking play, not for a moment looking for a rest.
Seventy minutes played and ADO get their forth goal. A ball played towards the Utrecht goal was collected by Marelle Worm who kept her nerve and calmly slotted the ball past the keeper into the corner of the net, great finish, 4-0.

In the remaining minutes ADO also had a goal bound effort cleared off the line. FC Utrecht never gave up on trying to get forward and on two occasions late on caused a few hair raising moments for the ADO defence, but nothing that was in anyway a serious threat on the home sides’ goal.
At the final whistle it was announced that FC Twente Ladies had also won their match, this meant that again ADO ladies were the runners up in the league championship.

The ADO ladies thank their suporters
The crowd chanted the players names and they responded by throwing the flowers they had been presented with into the crowd. It was a wonderful atmosphere and the ladies enjoyed their reception.
