No trams and buses will be running in Amsterdam, The Hague and Utrecht tomorrow between 09.00 and 16.00, or in Rotterdam between 10.00 and 16.00. Before and after these times, they will run normally. The Metro in Amsterdam will be unaffected as will train traffic generally.

The unions have organised the strike in protest against the government’s commitment to market forces in public transport, which they say has led to a deterioration in the quality of service, with contracts being awarded on purely financial criteria.
