Attack on Judge in Hague Court
(Mon 01 February 2010)
During appeal proceedings in a Hague court on Friday, the accused suddenly jumped over the table, gripping the presiding judge in a stranglehold. A court usher intervened and the judge was freed unhurt. The accused was allowed to stay in court in handcuffs but ultimately had to be removed because he was making too much noise.
He was appealing against a sentence of 9 years for robbery with violence and fatal consequences.
