Civil Servants Saved from Compulsory Vegetarianism

Hague civil servants will not be compelled to embrace vegetarianism in their canteens. The Animal Rights Party in the Lower House had asked for meat to be banned there, citing the example of Minister of the Environment Jacqueline Cramer who only served meat at official dinners on special request. However, Gerda Verburg, Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, replied that forbidding civil servants to eat meat went too far.
