Marc Bolland, the new Dutch CEO of the renowned British chain store Marks & Spencer is being given a golden welcome. Not only will Bolland receive the princely annual salary of £ 975,000, he will also get an annual bonus which could amount to 250% of what he earns. In addition, he will be given shares which, in 2010-2011, will be worth 400% of his salary, plus millions in compensation for the bonuses he will lose by leaving his former employer, Morrison Supermarkets. The British consultants PIRC, which advises investors, is strongly critical of the settlement.
