My name is Dan Nicholas and I’m a jazz guitarist from New York City. Inspired by the Hague’s rich musical environment, I moved here in 2001 and have made it my business to help sustain a great jazz scene here ever since.

In 2007 I founded EJP (Equinox Jazz Promotions), an organization dedicated to presenting an extremely high level of local and international jazz artists at a number of different venues throughout the city. In addition to our 10 year run of Sunday afternoons at Bar Restaurant Pavlov(4-6 pm), You can currently find us on Sunday evenings at Le Duc on Noordeinde (9:30-12:00pm).

The final Sunday concerts of the year at Pavlov feature a stellar lineup of international and local greats. On the 3rd of December, the great American trumpeter John Marshall will take the stage.

Marshall is an alumni of the bands of Buddy Rich, Thad Jones/Mel Lewis, and Lionel Hampton, and has shared the stage with Dizzy Gillespie and George Coleman to name but a few.

December 10th’s group will be led by the recently knighted drummer “Sir” Eric Ineke, and features Juraj Stanik, one of Europe’s finest jazz pianists. Closing off the season on December 17th is master pianist Rob van Kreeveld, who in a career spanning six decades has played with Stan Getz, Joe Pass, and Toots Theilmans, among many others.
