Wassenaar is the second most expensive municipality in the Netherlands to live in. This is according to figures from the CBS and the Land Registry.

Last year, on average  it cost  € 705,228 to buy  a home  to live just outside  The Hague.  The national average cost of  a property  was €263,000.

The most expensive  municipality is the seaside town of   Bloemendaal  in North Holland where the average  house  price is  €775.770. Other expensive municipalities to live in are Laren (€636,543), Blaricum (€619,585) and Heemstede (€514,206).

Delfzijl, in the province of Groningen, was the cheapest municipality in the Netherlands last year to buy a home with an average  price of €141,000.
