Thousands of visitors attended the Liberation Festival in The Hague on Saturday.
According to the organization it was just as busy as last year, despite the cold weather.
An estimated 30,000 to 35,000 people visited Spuiplein to watch the coldest Liberation Day festival in 21 years.
The fifth edition of the Liberation in The Hague was officially opened at 13:00 by Mayor Jozias van Aartsen, who ignighted the freedom flame at Spuiplein.
The absolute highlight was the performance of the Ambassadors of Freedom, Nick & Simon. Using a helicopter which flew them across the Netherlands to perform. At 19.00 they were in The Hague.
Also very popular, was the live performance of the program Op Losse Groeven featuring Ali B. and Ronnie Tober.
In the evening, it was also very busy during the performance of the English new wave rock band Fischer-Z.
