Ground Staff Strike Cancels Flights at Schipol

KLM has cancelled 11 flights on Monday morning after airport ground staff at Schiphol staged a two-hour strike in a dispute over pay. The airline did not say which flights would be taken out of the schedule during the stoppage between 8am and 10am, but told passengers to check departure times before travelling. The FNV union called the strike after a deadline to reach a new pay agreement expired on Friday. Stadhuis Parking Garage Open as Normal from September 2

The parking garage under the town hall is normally open again from 2 September. You can park there from Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. Due to construction work on the educational and cultural complex (OCC) on the Spuiplein, the garage was open to a limited extent. Second Heatwave in Full Swing

The temperature topped 30 Celsius in the De Bilt weather station near Utrecht on Tuesday, meaning the Netherlands is in the grip of its second official heatwave of the year. A heatwave is defined as a five-day period of temperatures over 25 Celsius, of which three are over 30 Celsius. The first official heatwave of the year was between July 22 and July 27, when several weather records were broken. Almost 100 Companies Flee British Shores for NL Ahead of Brexit

So far 98 companies have set up shop in the Netherlands because of Brexit, the Dutch foreign investment agency NFIA confirmed on Monday. Of them, around half have shifted operations from Britain and the rest are Asian and US firms which have opted to set up a Dutch base rather than one in the UK, a spokesman told DutchNews.nl. Scheveningen Complaints Investigated during Campaign

On Saturday 24 August 2019, the police and the municipality checked for nuisance at the coast and the port of Scheveningen. This resulted in 100 receipts, multiple warnings, standing postures and 1 official report. A guest was also arrested on the beach who was still serving a prison sentence of 7 days. Ska street orchestra The Kiloknallers has won the first Chuck Deely Award. Aldermen Richard de Mos of Economy and Robert van Asten of Culture announced this at the festival The Streets of Chuck Deely. ADO Den Haag icon Tom Beugelsdijk has concluded a wonderful week in a wonderful way.
