On Tuesday, 21 May 2019, Volunteer The Hague & the Vrijwilligersacademie are inviting both the local Dutch and local internationals to connect and rediscover what unites them. In our next free workshop called “Rediscovering Unities in Cultures” by intercultural communication expert Ute Limacher-Riebold, we will identify the most important steps that lead to mutual understanding and friendships between internationals and locals. We will stay away from talking about the do’s and don’ts and refrain from judging others. Instead we will focus on fostering a mutual understanding.
In March, we also teamed up with Vrijwilligersacademie to invite both the internationals and the local Dutch to connect with one another and untangle common misperceptions of living in The Netherlands in “The Perception Gap” with Cathy Delhanty. We discovered that solutions lie in respectful dialogue and remaining interested in each other. Building upon this awareness, our next workshop will focus on what unites us, instead of the differences.
In this FREE workshop you will learn:
- How to bridge the familiar (your culture) with the unfamiliar (not your culture)
- What the subconscious part of culture is below the surface of society
- How to explore your own very personal way to connect
- How volunteering is a great opportunity to connect with other cultures
Register for free now. Meet and greet other expats in the Hague, network and learn more about volunteering opportunities.
