Lee Ranaldo known as guitarist of Sonic Youth, accompanied with an exclusive solo project ‘songs & stories’ accompanied by music, an interview and visual material. The image result for lane ranaldoMessthethics consists largely of band members of influential post-hardcore band Fugazi, including bassist Joe Lally and drummer Brendan Canty, who play together again for the first time in 15 years. Another legendary act is the Berlin post-punk band Pink Turns Blue, who will perform in the Netherlands after more than 20 years.
The English band The Blinders, bombed by the British press and BBC to ”rescuers of rock’n’roll ” (together with Idles and Shame) comes exclusively to The Hague with their frenzied, obsessive live show, a mad experience that you have to see! The band has played in England for sold-out halls and big festivals and their debut album is ‘album of the year’ in many charts. The Scottish The Cosmic Dead brings psychedelic rock with kraut influences reminiscent of legendary bands like Neu! and Hawkwind. The British duo Sink Ya Teeth flew the hall to London Calling earlier this year and makes a mix of post-punk funk, synthpop and wave for fans of The Slits, New Order and The Raincoats.
Dutch sound comes from the Charlie & The Lesbians with a mix of post-punk, indie and punk.
At the pre-party Nik Void, known from Factory Floor and her collaboration with Chris & Cosey, will set up an intense and uplifting industrial live set. More Dutch sound comes from the brand new OZMA supergroup, consisting of members of Monomyth, Supersonic Blues and Elektrovolt. Inspired by spacerock and kraut, OZMA will present a compelling psychedelic show. The Greek (and now Hague) DJ Pasiphae runs a mix of wave, electro and techno. The pre-party takes place in the Paardcafe and underground club Het Magazijn.
Film, symposium and Graukunst
In addition to music, Grauzone is also presenting a film program, symposium and an extensive GRAUKUNST exhibition from 1 February to 1 March in Billytown. Here we show a retrospective with work by the legendary artist Genesis P-Orridge, also known from Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV, COUM Transmissions. This is the first exhibition with P-Orridge in the Netherlands, including work not shown before. The symposium will include Blixa Bargeld and Steve Albini, known from Shellac and Big Black. During the film program we show the exclusive film documentary ” The Public Image Is Rotten ” about John Lydon and his band PIL.
