Krokus Kabaal: the best theatre and art festival for Hague children in the spring break!
We’re going to make some noise again this spring break! Welcome back to the cheerful theatre and art festival in all corners of The Hague. From Saturday 23 February to Friday 1 March 2019, children from 0 to 12 years of age can see and do everything on the eleven (!) locations of the The Hague Cultural Anchor.
The performances and activities are offered at a low rate (often € 3 and sometimes even for free). Art, theater and culture for everyone! Theme this year is: colour. The program is full of colour and all theatres will decorate their rooms and rooms in an extra colourful way. There are performances, workshops and activities around color such as: A suitcase full of colours, White/Black, Theater Workshop: I feel blue!, Crocus Colours, Cooking with Color and Nansi Kneten Kleur.
Where in The Hague?
‘Krokus Kabaal’ can be found in the following locations (Culltuurankers): Laaktheater (Laakkwartier), theater De Vaillant (Schilderswijk), Theater De Nieuwe Regentes (Segbroek), two locations of the Diamant Theater (Haagse Hout), Theater and Filmhuis Dakota (Escamp), Libraries Loosduinen and Nieuw Waldeck, Libraries Leidschenveen and Ypenburg and Muzee Scheveningen.
Program from very small to very large
Even for the little ones there is plenty to do: music and dance in the Baby Concert (0-24 months), Ukkieconcert (1-4 years), Peuterdans (2+), Dikkertje Dap (film), the performances Dikkie Dik and me (with free animal playground). From 4 years on, the choice is also huge: a felt workshop, De Drakentemmer (theater), Sound grapples (participating in the theatre with songs and music), dreaming away at Aladdin, De Wensappel and Vos.
Plenty for 6+
From children of six years and up, the program is packed! With movies like How To Train Your Dragon 3, The GVR, Ralph Breaks the Internet and Mary Poppins Returns as well as the chance to have a good laugh at Moustachio, take part in The Great Olympic Game Show or marvel at the live painted picture book in Kijk ik Zoek! Or how about games and theatre workshops?
Workshops and other activities
Speaking of workshops: Circaso teaches you how to become a real circus artist and you can also show that! Is there an actor in you? NT Jong is there for children from 7 to 10 with the Toneelatelier: I feel blue! Theaterschool Rabarber introduces you to theatre and makes a short presentation for children. You can also dance in the Giant Dance Workshop or come and swing in the disco of DJ Funky Fran! Maybe you like painting or crafting more? Then you join the Krokus colours painting workshop, the Colour Cooking workshop, the Underwater Wonderworld printing workshop or Free Birds in the spring of Art-s-cool. And this is not all!
At every Cultuuranker there is something fun to do with a nice lunch, songs, a concert, dancing and plenty of surprise performances. It promises to be a super fun holiday!
