It is suddenly December again and there is only one Repair Café to go before we exchange 2018 for 2019! Our volunteers will be working hard at the residential community Centraal Wonen, Albert Schweitzerlaan 2 t/m 68 (Loosduinen district).
That day you can come back to us with your old laptop, the CD player whose drawer no longer opens, the jacket with the torn out inside pocket, the vacuum cleaner that no longer rolls up the cord, and yes, also with your broken Senseo.
Our repairers will, with your help, do their best to give the item you brought a second life. And you might also pick up some spare parts so that next time you may not even need the Repair Café for a successful repair! Repair (success not guaranteed) is free but any material costs have to be paid. Of course, this always happens in consultation with the owner.
In order to prevent disappointment and unnecessary lugging of heavy items, we remind visitors that they can only offer one product per category (electrical, textile, other) for repair. Only then can we help as many different people as possible. Visitors should nonetheless take into account that they can not always immediately be seen and we are sometimes forced to stop seeing people earlier than planned.
As mentioned before, a repair at the Repair Café is free. A voluntary contribution in our tip jar as appreciation for the effort that our volunteers make is appreciated, however: we can cover our costs. And people who have a particularly warm heart for us can become Friend of Repair Café Den Haag for €25 per year.
