Scheveningen is once again the finish of a major international maritime event. Dozens of large sailing ships will be coming to the resort from 20 to 23 June this year, because this is where the Liberty Tall Ships Regatta finishes. Ten to fifteen classic windjammers and around twenty medium-sized sea sailing ships come to Scheveningen for this. Many of these ships sail around the world and can only be seen at major international maritime events such as Sail Amsterdam, but now also for the first time in The Hague. Extra special of Sail on Scheveningen is that the ships can not only be admired, but can also be entered for free!
The Hague is the international capital of peace and justice and has an attractive nautical meeting point with the Scheveningen harbor. International law bridges the oceans and unites countries on all continents in their pursuit of peace. Based on that, the city is now demanding a leading role with even more emphasis. Liberty Tall Ships Regatta – Scheveningen 2019 will be a spectacular event to give color and shape to that role of ‘the international city by the sea’ on the global stage. A unique opportunity for the whole of The Hague, Scheveningen and the Netherlands to focus on the eye of the world.
