The third edition of the Scheveningen Light Walk will take place on Saturday 14 December. The nicest walking event in the dark and cozy winter month. Thousands of sporty hikers put on hiking shoes and walk 5.5 km (Kids Light Walk), 7.5 km, 12.5 km or 18.5 km through a magically lit Scheveningen. The organization expects around 12,500 participants this year.

The start of the 12.5 km and 18.5 km is on the beach at the height of De Pier in Scheveningen. A beautiful route has been set from here. Along the way, the runners are surprised with special luminous and musical acts from home and abroad and can enjoy snacks that suit the time of the year. The Kids Light Walk and the 7.5 km start from Madurodam. The entrance to this Dutch miniature city is included when registering at these distances. All distances finish on the beach at De Pier, where the runners are warmly welcomed with a reminder pin and can enjoy their performance.

Kids Light Walk

The young walkers were also considered. Children in the 4 to 12 age group can participate in the Kids Light Walk of approximately 5.5 km under the supervision of at least one adult. The start is, just like the 7.5 km route, in Madurodam. Participants can go to the park with a ticket from the Scheveningen Light Walk from 3 pm onwards.

The Royal Dutch Rescue Society

The Royal Dutch Rescue Society is connected to the third Scheveningen Light Walk. The foundation, which is mentioned in the same breath and is inextricably linked to Scheveningen, comes into action many times a year for swimmers and water sports enthusiasts, but also for professional shipping. The KNRM, largely dependent on its voluntary rescuers, is completely dependent on donors and sponsors for its survival. The KNRM boathouse is also part of the route this edition of the Scheveningen Light Walk. During registration you will have the opportunity to make a voluntary donation.
