The St Andrews Society Annual Ceilidh Charity Ball includes a formal dinner with dancing and a raffle to raise money for charity. The dances we do may not be familiar, but not to worry – we have a “caller” – that’s what we Scots call the dance teacher who walks and talks us through each dance before we do it.
The Ball will actually be held on St Andrew’s Day this year – Saturday 30th November 2019 at the Crowne Plaza on Van Stolkweg, 2585JL Den Haag. Guests are encouraged to “dress to impress” and kilts are always welcome!
We welcome all those interested in Scottish culture to attend – please see the flyer attached. The focus is on having fun, and raising funds for the nominated charity. We have a full dinner from the exquisite Crowne Plaza kitchens, aided by a soupcon of best Macsween’s haggis (accompanied by ‘neeps en’ tatties) which is dispatched in front of your very own eyes to the words of Robbie Burns.
Ticket prices are €99, including a four course dinner, drinks before and during dinner and (of course) a wonderful ceilidh. The closing date for payment is 22nd November, but we encourage those interested in attending to contact Marion or Ian earlier in the month.
Arrival is from 1830 for dinner at 1900. Carriages can be ordered for 0100!
