On Saturday evening, September 21, the Lange Voorhout in The Hague will set the stage for the start and finish of the second edition of The Hague Peace Night Run powered by JUST PEACE . The trail guarantees a fairytale spectacle of fire, light, mysticism and sound, but is otherwise as dark as the night and is only lit in a few places! The run is a unique experience run and the ideal mix of sport, fun and reflection through the city of Peace and Justice.
The 8.5 km trail runs through the center of The Hague and passes, among other things, the Peace Palace. Every participant receives a headlight. The long ribbon of participants with lights forms a nice connection between the theme of Peace and the city itself. The Hague Peace Night Run does not challenge you to set the fastest time, but rather challenges you to realize together that, unfortunately, peace is not so obvious to everyone. As a result, the event is also accessible to the untrained runner and the Peace theme is even more in the spotlight. Participating in The Hague Peace Night Run makes participants think and connects them. The light animations represent hope in the world and give a good reflection of the theme of Peace. The Hague Peace Night Run ends with a fun afterparty.
Running for UNICEF, the charity of The Hague
During The Hague Peace Night Run we celebrate that we can live together in freedom and peace. Unfortunately, peace is not everywhere. For this reason, cooperation with UNICEF has been established, so that all participants can walk together and raise money for millions of children fleeing war and violence, for example.
Participants can create an action page themselves via the UNICEF Nederland platform. In this way, each participant can be sponsored by family, friends and colleagues and they are free to donate an obligation-free amount upon registration. JUST PEACE is a collaboration between educational institutions, cultural institutions, international organizations and NGOs in The Hague working on and promoting peace and justice.
During the year they organize events to bring peace and justice to the attention of a broad target group. You can find more information on the website www.justpeacethehague.com
