On September 27th, Rise and Lead Netherlands will host their 1st annual summit at the NH-Hotel, located at the World Trade Centre in The Hague, Netherlands. The event will bring together professionals, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, government officials and thought-leaders to champion the best practices in empowering women for leadership and impact. The theme for the event is ‘Rising through partnerships and visibility’.

The one-day summit is aimed at women wanting to rise up and take the lead, wishing to leave legacies and build a sustainable future. Men who want to address gender bias, support women and rise alongside them are also invited.

“We envision a world where women have equal opportunities as their male counterparts to achieve top leadership positions in the workplace and create sustainable businesses in the marketplace”, says Rise and Lead founder, Ebere Akadiri.

Mrs Akadiri, an accomplished Nigerian business founder who lives in The Hague and the creator of the Rise and Lead Summit, partners with Poonam Barua, a thought leader, economist, and Founding Chairman of the Forum for Women in Leadership, based in New Delhi as a strategic leadership knowledge partner.

Mrs AKadiri also partners with Hannah Huber (Founder of Spark Network, Amsterdam) as a strategic summit partner.  Several organisations are partnering with Rise And Lead Summit hosts to provide a collaborative platform where women are supported to rise. Some of the organisations include Women Business Initiative, The Hague, Network without Borders, Professional Women Network Brussels, Spanish Professional Women in The Netherlands and Professional Women Network, Amsterdam.

Rise and Lead Summit is a full-day event, and the agenda includes an opening speech delivered by Ebere Akadiri and Hannah Huber, followed by a keynote speech given by Poonam Barua on the topic of “Executive Presence: Rise and Lead Women”.

Following the keynote presentation is a first-panel discussion, moderated by Ebere Akadiri, on the topic of “How Can More Women Rise and Lead in The Workplace and Marketplace”.

Delivering a speech on women economic empowerment is Martin Wörsdörfer, a member of the Dutch Parliament for the VVD since 2017. Martin’s focus is on SMEs, digitalisation and easing regulatory pressure for entrepreneurs in the Netherlands.

The day will include an executive round-table discussion for professionals, led by Poonam Barua, with a focus on negotiation strategies, helping more women to speak up and ask for their worth and using technology to amplify women’s collective voices. There will also be concurrent workshop sessions for entrepreneurs, focusing on strategic partnerships, business funding and storytelling strategies.

A second-panel discussion will address questions on the importance of visibility for women, led by Emmy McCarthy, a community leader based in Amsterdam. A third keynote, focusing on professional social connections and client acquisition, will be delivered by the renowned authority on social selling, Melonie Dadora, followed by a closing plenary session with conversations on the next way forward for women. Sheila Gemin of Professional Women Network, Amsterdam will moderate this session.

Rise and Lead Summit takes place September 27th, 9 am – 6 pm, and includes lunch and all day refreshments. Tickets are available at www.riseandleadwomen.com.
