Deputy Mayor Saskia Bruines, Knowledge Economics, International and Education, has signed a memorandum of  understanding  with the Stanford Peace Innovation Lab. The University wants to settle in The Hague with a Peace Innovation Institute next year.

The new institute will support international organizations with knowledge, expertise, events and workshops in developing new technologies that can contribute to world peace. Stanford chose The Hague because of the present knowledge, network and international image of the  city in the area of peace and justice.

The arrival of the Peace Innovation Institute reinforces the  strength  of The Hague  in the area of Peace, Law and Security.

There is also a strong connection with Stanford University and Sillicon Valley. This is especially interesting for companies and startups in the city that work in sectors such as security, ICT and technology.
