It happens too often that rubbish is placed next to the underground containers. Often the items are too big for the containers. A team will go into the city’s neighbourhoods as of Monday, 11 June to explain how you can easily dispose of this sort of waste.

The team which includes municipal employees will walk around the city’s neighbourhoods until the end of December. It is possible that they will ring your doorbell to give you advice and tips. If you are not home, they will leave a flyer in your letterbox.

What you can do: examples

The team will tell you that there is no charge to dispose of oversized waste at the city’s 3 garbage and recycling stations. You can find the addresses of these stations on the page Disposing of oversized waste and garden waste. Are you unable to bring your oversized waste or garden waste to a garbage and recycling station yourself? Make an appointment with the municipality through the page Collection of oversized waste and garden waste.

Perhaps it is a pity to throw your items away if they are still good. Then you can take them to a second-hand store (kringloopwinkel) so that somebody else can use them. Look at for locations close to you. These second-hand stores often have a collection service.

The street looks clean and tidy when there is no garbage next to the containers.
