ADO Den Haag traveled to Amsterdam on Sunday afternoon to take on Ajax in their Johan Cruijff ArenA. Despite picking up three points last weekend away at PEC Zwolle, everyone knew that this was going to be a very tough game, and what was worse, ADO’s most potent goal threat, Nasser El Khayati was out through injury, sustained in training this week.
The challenge was too difficult for ADO as the Amsterdammer ran out 5-1 winners. ADO were 3-1 down at half time, Meijers scoring from a free-kick being the only highlight of the game for ADO.
Despite conceding two more goal is the second half, ADO did create some openings that threatened the Ajax goal.
The defeat was no surprise and now ADO have to wait until next Saturday against De Graafschap to get this defeat out of their system.
