Unique products for sale on the Jong Ondernemen Market Day

More than 200 student entrepreneurs from South Holland are eager, because it is almost time: the Market Day of the Jong Ondernemen foundation in Scheveningen. On Saturday, April 6, the students do everything they can to sell their product or service. The Pier in Scheveningen will be transformed into a true young entrepreneur’s fair for one day. Students ready, just sell!

In recent months, the students have worked hard to develop their own product or service. They all participate in the Junior or Student Company program of Jong Ondernemen. During this entrepreneurship program, students start their own company as a team, manage it for a year and become acquainted with all facets of entrepreneurship. Of course, that includes selling. In order to introduce student entrepreneurs to the sales profession, Jong Ondernemen is organizing a number of Market Days throughout the country, including one on April 6 in Scheveningen. The purpose of this day is to let the students experience how they can best sell their self-developed and developed product or service.

Entrepreneurial skills

The programs of Jong Ondernemen, including Junior and Student Company, give young people the opportunity to develop an entrepreneurial attitude and discover where their talents and qualities lie. Mariolein van der Plas, managing director of Jong Ondernemen:

“The labor market is changing at lightning speed. The time of 9-to-5 jobs are over, we regularly change employers and many companies work with flex workers. In addition, more and more people are starting their own businesses. With Jong Ondernemen we want to prepare young people for this changing world. Central to this is the development of entrepreneurial skills, such as creativity, collaboration and problem solving – because these skills are more important today than ever before.”

Curious about what the students sell? Then come to De Pier in Scheveningen on Saturday 6 April between 10:30 and 16:00. You can also attend the Regional Final from 15:00 to 16:00.
