What an amazing end to the current football season as our local club, ADO Den Haag miss out on the Europa League play-offs on goal difference. In the end, just three goals prevented what could have been an amazing adventure.

ADO won their final three games, ADO v Excelsior 3-1, Feyenoord v ADO 2-0 and last night beat Willem II 6-2 in the Cars Jeans stadium.

At the end of February it was looking as though ADO would be in a huge fight against relegation. Fons Groenendijk saw what the problems were and changed his formations, he could not have wished for better as ADO then looked to be a real attacking threat.

ADO fans should be really proud of their team and their manager, they all stood up ready to be counted on. If the Hague team can keep hold of Nasser El Khayati (the club’s top scorer this season) then next season could see a real push for a European spot.
