The fireworks festival held in Scheveningen in the winter is set to continue. The International Fireworks Festival Scheveningen Foundation has updated and reported so on their website. The summer version of the festival was canceled this year due to strict safety requirements that the organization could not meet.

If the weather allows it, you can admire the fireworks on the beach on Sunday 1, 8, 15 and 22 December. ‘We are proud that our colorful shows we are putting Scheveningen on the map again this winter. We are looking forward to ending the year with a bang!” writes chairman Bjorn van Dijl.

Former mayor Krikke was worried about the safety of the summer festival. In 2018 there were 100,000 visitors who afterwards had great difficulty getting away by public transport or by car. The municipality then set stricter requirements, so that the festival eventually did not take place. The organization hopes that the fireworks festival can continue next summer after a year of absence.
